Daniel Lemin is a senior digital marketing strategist at Convince and Convert, a digital marketing advisory company. He’s also the author of the book Manipurated which is about how small businesses can manage their reputations in online venues. Lemin is a respected authority on the reputation industry, digital marketing and has been quoted in USA Today. Lemin also used to work for Google and has been a consultant for prominent companies such as Nestlé USA and many more.

In this interview Fabienne & Lemin discusses online review platforms such as Yelp & Amazon, and how an owner can manage the reputation of an online small business in terms of online reviews. A fact suggests that 90% of Americans trust recommendations from friends and family, and 88% of consumers trust anonymous  reviews. Daniel think it's shocking because the fake reviews industry has gone from 6% to 25%, in 2006 to 2014. It’s easier now to hack any of these platforms such as Yelp or Tripadvisor, and give fake reviews. Amazon recently assumed that there were 1100 fake people/reviews on it’s platform. It also reflects the importance and market opportunity of these platforms. Because business owners can have a major competitive advantage if they can beat their competitors with reviews on Yelp or Amazon. They also discuss how to tackle a situation where a business owner gets 5 good and 1 bad review. Lemin recommends ways of how an online & small business owner can boost its reputation with online ratings and reviews. Listen to this discussion and get an insight & ideas on this complicated area of reviews & ratings for every online business. Learn how to recognize a fake review from legitimate ones!
